Senior Sous Chef
Tish Bar & Restaurant is looking to appoint an experienced and passionateSenior Sous Chefin a permanent Position to join our team.
Tish Bar & Restaurant is situated in the heart of Belsize Park, with 150 seats and has been serving exceptional Kosher and dairy free food for 3 years. We are looking for someone who will join us in continuing to offer the high level of service our customers have come to know from us
Main duties
- Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
- Help Trains new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards.
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
- Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards.
- Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability.
- Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed.
Competencies and skills
- Formal culinary training.
- Experience in a similar role within a high-quality restaurant is essential.
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
- Ability to work under pressure and self-motivated.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have excellent communications skills with a proven ability to effectively work with senior managers and Directors.
- Be adaptable, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements, which may mean getting involved in procedures that are not normally part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Have the ability to multitask and effectively prioritizethe workload.
Salary: £18p/h moving to £19p/h after passing probation period of 3 months.
