My Local Authority Client in London is looking to source an experienced Urban Designer to join their Planning Department.
 
The Role:
Assist the Principal Urban Design Officer in the review and appraisal of major and strategic planning proposals in relation to private and the Council own regeneration programmes.
Assist with conditions discharging for design-related planning conditions attached to major and strategic planning proposals.
Work with developers, local communities, architects, planners, and landscape architects to resolve problems and conflicts in order to create better spaces.
Assist in answering and dealing with general enquiries coming into the team as the first point of contact.
Coordinate the Design Review Panel, working with the Principal Urban Design Officer to manage reviews.
Support the Planning Policy team in the development of design policies, strategies and masterplans and supplementary planning guidance, including for residential design.
Deal with cases and investigations of alleged contravention of planning control/related matters and advise on appropriate action.
