Job Overview:We are seeking a Coroners Court Assistant to provide vital administrative support to the Coroner's Court in Haringey. You will assist with various tasks, from managing the courtroom environment to preparing documents, liaising with jurors, and maintaining court systems. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensure smooth court operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Court Manager and the court.
  • Assist in court by carrying out ushering and jury bailiff duties for inquests, mentions, and hearings.
  • Set up and operate court recording equipment, ensuring it works for remote witness participation.
  • Prepare and manage jury inquests, including correspondence and jury pack preparation.
  • Update case records, assist with audits, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Liaise with other services to obtain information or respond to queries.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, documents, and office supplies.
  • Assist in managing court and coroner diaries and arrange meetings.
  • Keep public areas of the building clean and report maintenance issues.
  • Provide additional admin support when needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an administrative or court-based environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A flexible approach with the ability to adapt to the demands of the role.
  • Ability to work under pressure and ensure that deadlines are met.
