Our clients Asset Management Team, one of the firm’s fastest-growing departments, has a strong reputation within the legal sector. Recognised in Legal 500 & Chambers directories, our client represents Registered Providers and Local Authorities, working on major national and regional frameworks. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a talented Associate/Senior Associate to help defend housing disrepair claims.

The Role:

As an Associate/Senior Associate in our Asset Management Team, you will manage your own caseload of litigated housing conditions claims, with a focus on defending social landlords. You will also supervise Junior Solicitors and Paralegals and play a key role in preparing cases for trial, drafting defences, and witness statements.

Requirements
  • Manage a caseload of litigated housing disrepair claims.
  • Defend claims on behalf of social landlords, including Registered Providers and Local Authorities.
  • Draft defences, witness statements, and prepare cases for trial.
  • Supervise and mentor Junior Solicitors and Paralegals within the team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional client service.

Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proven track record of managing housing disrepair claims to trial.
  • Experience working within a Social Housing team, ideally representing Registered Providers or Local Authorities.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to manage junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to various professional contexts.
  • Enthusiasm for the social housing sector and dedication to delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and multitask effectively.
  • Advocacy experience is advantageous, but not essential.
