Service Care Legal are currently seeking a highly skilled Contracts Lawyer with a focus on public procurement to join our dynamic team within a busy housing directorate. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with a robust background in contract law to contribute to a variety of vital procurement projects, including repairs, major works, and various other contracts.

ROLE: Contracts Lawyer - Public Procurement
LOCATION: London
RATE: 40.00 to 50.oo per hour LTD (DOE, PQE and interview performance)
CONTRACT: 3 Months (With Potential for Extension)

The Role

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of contracts, featuring both low and high value agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice on public procurement regulations, construction law matters, JCT building contracts, and contracts for goods and services.
  • Represent the organization at departmental contracts review boards, ensuring compliance and offering sound legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to facilitate effective procurement processes aligned with local authority governance.

The Person

  • Must be an admitted Solicitor of England and Wales with a minimum of 3 years post-admission experience, or a Barrister called to the bar of England and Wales with at least 3 years post-call experience, or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience in public procurement and contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of public procurement regulations and construction law.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across various levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment, with at least one day per week required in the office.
