To support the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Department in achieving its objectives by providing thorough credit application processing, and to track and manage the credit and exposure risk of the portfolio.

Credit Analyst (12 months FTC)

  • To serve as the primary credit partner, helping the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Department meet its goals through the provision of comprehensive credit application processing and business-focused administrative support.
  • The main responsibility of the Credit Analyst team is to produce and present high-quality analyses and recommendations for a portfolio of corporate clients, which includes annual reviews and new transaction requests. For new requests or clients above the London Branch's approval authority.
  • The key objective of the Credit Analyst team is to ensure the bank develops client relationships while managing credit risk and adhering to regulatory standards. This is achieved through close collaboration with Relationship Managers and the bank's Risk function.
  • To assist in relationship support tasks, such as preparing credit applications and credit ratings for the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Department.
  • To assist in the preparation of annual review reports for clients.
  • To assist in monitoring and reviewing facilities and loans post-drawdown, including maintaining efficient diary systems for covenant checks, timely reviews, waivers, and compliance/legal issues.
  • To consistently monitor the credit portfolio for any changes in credit quality due to counterparty-specific or broader market-related issues, providing recommendations for appropriate actions.
  • To remain highly aware of market trends in international business, including key developments in the UK and global credit markets.

Profile

Financial Services

* Applicants should have at least 1-2 years of experience in credit analysis within a Commercial, Corporate, or Investment Banking environment. Ideally, the candidate will have experience analyzing companies across a variety of sectors.
* Excellent attention to detail, the ability to work effectively under time pressure, and persistence in following up on key issues.
* A degree-level education is required. Formal qualifications in credit analysis or accounting would be beneficial.
* Ideally, experience working with large corporate clients.
* General corporate sector experience is required, but no specific specialization is necessary.

Core Competencies
* Strong technical credit analysis skills, including financial statement analysis, sector research, and financial modeling expertise.
* Understanding of banking products from a credit risk perspective, including common commercial and corporate banking products (overdrafts, syndicated loans, term loans, cash management, guarantees, and letters of credit).
* Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous.
