I am partnered with a magic circle law firm in their search for a senior credit analyst to join their London office on a permanent basis. The role reports into an experienced credit control team leader and takes control of 40 of the firm's key clients.

Daily duties of the role include:

  • Drive collection activities and validate exceptions.
  • Ensure bills are received, approved, and paid within timelines.
  • Build strong client relationships to reduce partner involvement.
  • Monitor payment status of invoices.
  • Resolve client queries and escalate as needed.
  • Collaborate with Billing, e-Billing, and Cashiers teams on invoice issues.
  • Identify and improve slow-paying clients' debtor days.
  • Produce and follow up on collection letters, adopting automation where possible.
  • Set and adjust credit limits for client entities in 3E.
  • Ensure credit limits are applied to all client entities.
  • Automate credit exposure monitoring and improve lockup days.
  • Develop credit reporting with the project team.
  • Monitor bad debt and secure partner approval for write-offs.
  • Claim and repay VAT or similar rebates for written-off debt.
  • Promote digital forms for debt write-off requests.
  • Ensure approvals and thresholds are set and communicated.

The right candidate will have:

  • Proficient in 3E and e-billing portals.
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, vlookups).
  • Confident with numbers and accurate reconciliation.
  • Excellent verbal and written persuasion skills.
  • Initiative in problem-solving with innovative solutions.
  • Proactive, conscientious, and enthusiastic.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Team leadership and management experience.
  • Legal experience or knowledge beneficial.
  • Flexible and conscientious timekeeping.
