This position is responsible for supporting and working alongside the Lead Settlements Analyst in providing a world-class settlements service to the business. The role will provide an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to gain exposure across a very wide range of energy products within a dynamic and ambitious company.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Supporting the settlement Analysts in the team to ensure the timely settlement of a variety of products such as Physical Gas, Power, Environmental Products, Green Certificate, Derivative and FX Settlements. Assisting the junior members of the team with issues that may arise and training them / mentoring them so that they can independently resolve similar issues in the future
  • Be responsible for the invoicing / settlement of the complex gas and power contracts, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.
  • Supporting the settlement analysts in the team with discrepancies / issues raised
  • Taking the lead and representing Settlements on key business projects, i.e. New SAP implementation.
  • Support the Front Office operating plan, understand new products and implement them into the settlements team, ensuring DLC is followed, and controls are in place. Train the settlement analysts on these new products so that they become part of the BAU process
  • Working closely with Front Office representatives and supporting and initiating improvements to the trading systems and workflow processes within Settlements, Finance and across FO to Settlements
  • Liaison with various teams within the organisation from Risk Management, Legal, IT, Finance, Treasury and Credit teams to ensure integrity of data within the trading system to accurate reporting within defined timescales
  • Supporting the trading desk in counterparty relationships and in ensuring quality information flows across the business and taking action to resolve any disputes
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with counterparties and other teams within the organisation
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and relevant commentary to Management.
  • Constantly review and provide ideas for improving processes across the team to streamline and automate current processes.
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are constantly reviewed, documented, and updated.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experienced in settlement / invoicing processes for energy trades and related products, especially the more complex products, capacity, field nominations, storage, index trades,
  • Experience in an energy trading environment
  • Experience of working with trading counterparties and direct contact with the trading desks.
  • A working knowledge of trading systems, preferably ENDUR
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Diligent and dependable
  • Ability to work well in a small but growing team
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as an individually and having some people management / mentoring experience would be an advantage
  • Able to work effectively cross-functionally with all areas of the business
  • Dedication to review and improvement of existing processes
  • Commercially astute with the ability to develop and understand issues.
