2.       Purpose of the Role

The core purpose of the role is to help the business manage its working capital, by ensuring customer debt arrears are kept to a minimum.

3.       Responsibilities

This job description is non-contractual and provided for guidance. It will be updated and amended from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of the business and the requirements of the job.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

Duties / Responsibilities

Detail

Core / Primary:

  • Call customers with arrears on their account and work with them to clear these arrears.
  • Manage customer relationships with problem clients.
  • Move people from manual/card payments onto Direct Debit.
  • Commence legal proceedings where necessary.

Ad Hoc / Cover:

  • Reporting as the business requires, on an ad hoc basis.
  • Queries from both front and back-office stakeholders to be answered promptly and professionally .
  • Assisting other members of support.
  • Ad Hoc duties as and when required by the business.

4.         Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • CICM qualification would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the telecoms industry would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications would be an advantage.

Skills Required

  • Communication skills and ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Organisational awareness, personal planning and time management.
  • Problem solving.
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Confident phone user.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Credit Control.
  • Experience of Credit Control to residential customer is preferred.
