As a Credit Controller, you will collaborate with the finance team to manage client invoices and payments due from HMRC. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you'll be liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure invoices are paid in full and on time through proactive communication and relationship-building with clients.
  • Follow up on outstanding debts via phone and email, resolving disputes and negotiating payment terms.
  • Liaise with various teams to address payment queries and assist with HMRC communications where required.
  • Identify potential invoicing opportunities through careful review of records.
  • Maintain accurate notes on client files.
  • Assist the finance team with invoicing and manage incoming payments, reconciling them on Xero.

To succeed in this role:

  • Experience in credit control is essential, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Confident, assertive, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as in a close-knit team.
  • The ability to understand how several complex income streams are invoiced and follow the relevant process for each.
