A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading financial services institution based int eh heart of London, as they seek a Credit Manager to join and manage their team of 12, with a focus on residential mortgages. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the property lending portfolio, managing securities, and ensuring the smooth execution of lending operations. You will work closely with high-net-worth clients, providing expert advice and fostering long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Manager to include:

  • Manage the Lending Back Office Teams, ensuring timely execution, maintenance, and release of lending security.
  • Oversee preparation of accurate and efficient lending and security documentation prior to advancing funds.
  • Ensure legal documentation complies with current legislation and protects the bank.
  • Lead recruitment, management, and development of team members within the Lending Back Office.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, solicitor panels, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of lending and security processes relevant to the bank's activities.
  • Oversee and affirm regulatory lending returns.
  • Support bank projects and contribute to embedding the Risk Management Framework through effective risk identification and management.
  • Handle customer queries promptly and professionally, ensuring good outcomes in line with Consumer Duty.
  • Provide input on commercial decisions related to security perfection, including buildings insurance.

Requirements for the successful Credit Manager to include:

  • Comprehensive technical expertise in lending, security perfection, and handling bespoke, non-standard requests.
  • Strong knowledge of regulated mortgage contracts, Consumer Credit Act borrowing, and lending-related regulatory reporting (e.g., Basel 3.1, PSD).
  • Proven experience serving high-net-worth clients with a conversational understanding of financial markets and the economy.
  • Demonstrable supervisory experience in lending and security roles within the financial sector.
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Candidates must be CeMAP (Level 3) qualified
