Our client is seeking a Junior Credit Controller to join their dynamic finance team. The position is based in London, offering a hybrid working model with three days in the office. What you'll do:
As a Junior Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our client's organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to manage member accounts, ensuring accuracy and minimising outstanding debts. You will also liaise closely with underwriters and claims handlers, effectively chasing up members or brokers where responses are absent or inadequate. Additionally, you will process payments of commissions to brokers following established procedures. Your role will extend beyond these tasks as you deputise for other members of the Credit Control function when necessary and train new Credit Controllers.
- Maintain the accuracy of sales ledger accounts for allocated members.
- Minimise outstanding debts due from allocated members.
- Maintain good working relationships with allocated members and relevant brokers.
- Process payment of commissions to brokers in accordance with procedures.
- Deputise for other members of the Credit Control function as necessary.
- Train new Credit Controllers in the principles and procedures of the department.
- Monitor the Club Reinsurance invoice procedure and perform quarterly reconciliations.
- Process bank charges and perform monthly reconciliations to ensure records are updated.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Junior Credit Controller position brings strong numerical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to maintain good relationships with members and brokers while your problem-solving abilities will help minimise outstanding debts. Experience in credit control or at a different P&I Club (any department) would be advantageous but not essential. Above all, your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines will set you apart.
