Overview:We are seeking a Senior Credit Control Manager with extensive B2C credit control experience in the retail sector. This standalone role requires someone who can manage consumer debt recovery independently, focusing on small, high-volume debts from individual customers.

The position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the credit control function without direct management responsibilities or an in-person team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the credit control process for consumer customers, ensuring timely collection of small debts within the retail sector.
  • Develop and implement strategies for recovering overdue payments while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Handle escalated cases, negotiating payment plans with customers, and resolving disputes professionally.
  • Monitor debtor balances and aged debt, regularly reporting on performance and key metrics to senior management.
  • Collaborate remotely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure a unified approach to consumer credit management.
  • Stay updated on consumer credit laws and ensure all practices are compliant with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a standalone credit control role, particularly within B2C retail.
  • Skilled in managing and recovering small, high-volume debts from consumer customers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain positive customer relationships during the debt recovery process.
  • Strong analytical skills for generating reports and tracking performance.
  • Ability to work independently without direct in-person management.
  • Good knowledge of credit laws and regulations affecting consumer debt.
