Senior Credit ControllerOur client a leading global PR firm are looking for an experienced professional to manage their US-based credit control operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of their agency by ensuring timely collections and managing client relationships effectively.

This role will suit an experience credit control professional with experience of US based collections.

This is a permanent role paying between £45,000- £55,000.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Responsible for the collection of payments for overdue invoices, particularly from US-based clients.
  • Drive the end-to-end collections process, ensuring proactive chasing of overdue invoices and meeting targets for 90+ days debt and debtor days.
  • Identify invoice queries and liaise with appropriate business departments for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with US clients, ensuring professional yet firm communication on overdue payments.
  • Assess and advise on the creditworthiness of new and existing clients.
  • Work with finance leadership to enhance credit control policies and procedures.
  • Identify process gaps and implement best practices to improve cash flow and minimize bad debt.
  • Responsible for accurate cash posting and allocation.
  • Keep up-to-date notes on all unpaid invoices and manage a large portfolio of clients/data.
  • Escalate unresolved issues as required and assist with expense processing when needed.
  • Support your line manager with any additional requests, reports, or tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a credit control role, with proven experience managing US-based collections.
  • Understanding of US client payment behaviours, legal frameworks, and collections processes.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams while ensuring timely payments.
  • Experience handling invoice disputes, setting credit terms, and working with finance teams on reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Highly IT literate with sound MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • High standard of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
