Credit & Political Risk Analyst – Leading (Re)Insurer – LondonA highly respected (re)insurer operating within the Lloyd’s market is seeking a skilled Credit & Political Risk Analyst to join their expanding team. This company underwrites a diverse range of Property, Commercial, and Specialty (re)insurance products, including Cargo, Marine, Political Violence, Terrorism, and War. With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, intelligent automation, and expert underwriting, they are looking for a candidate who can enhance their analytical capabilities within the Credit & Political Risk division.The RoleThis position plays a crucial role in developing and expanding the company’s existing Credit & Political Risk (CR/CF) capability, particularly in:
  • Generating internal obligor ratings for non-rated entities.
  • Providing analytical expertise in structured asset classes, including Project Finance.
The successful candidate will be a key member of a growing team, delivering in-depth analysis across sectors and geographies to facilitate fast, informed underwriting decisions.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market and macroeconomic research to maintain a cutting-edge understanding of business trends.
  • Deliver detailed sector, trend, and regional insights to support underwriting decisions.
  • Provide tailored analysis of individual counterparties, including internal credit ratings and recommendations.
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio exposure, offering risk-based recommendations.
  • Represent the team in discussions with internal and external stakeholders, communicating findings effectively.
Candidate ProfileEssential Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in credit analysis, particularly in lending transactions.
  • Ability to conduct independent quantitative and qualitative research across sectors and geographies.
  • Confidence in making risk and exposure recommendations, with a clear ability to justify decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with relevant analytical tools and methodologies.
  • CFA qualification or equivalent financial accreditation (desirable).
