Our client, a prominent banking institution based in London, is seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in supporting the bank's risk management function, focusing on evaluating and mitigating credit risks across various portfolios.

As a key member of the risk team, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth credit assessments, developing risk models, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Credit Risk Analysis: Perform thorough assessments of credit risk on borrowers, counterparties, and portfolios, ensuring the accurate evaluation of creditworthiness.
  • Risk Model Development: Design, validate, and refine credit risk models to forecast potential losses and assess risk exposures.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Generate and deliver comprehensive credit risk reports while continuously monitoring exposure against established risk thresholds.
  • Stress Testing: Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities in the credit portfolio and assess the impact of adverse conditions.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate credit risks, ensuring that all recommendations align with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including finance, portfolio management, and senior leadership, to ensure effective risk governance across the organisation.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Stay up to date with evolving credit risk regulations and ensure all risk activities comply with current regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in credit risk analysis within the banking sector
  • Strong understanding of credit risk modelling and assessment techniques
