It is essential that all applicants have some UK work experience, including at least 1-2 years producing and presenting credit analysis in a Commercial, Corporate or Investment Banking environment. Our client is looking for a Fluent Mandarin Credit Risk Assistant to join their team on a fixed term basis (12 months).

The Fluent Mandarin Credit Risk Assistant will assist achieve departmental objectives through the provision of comprehensive credit application and business focused administrative support and monitor the credit risk and exposure risk of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

To act as the key credit partner to support the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Department achieve departmental objectives through the provision of comprehensive credit application and business focused administrative support.

The primary role of the Credit Analyst team is to produce and present high-quality analysis and recommendations on a portfolio of corporate clients (including both annual reviews and new transaction requests). Analysis for new requests/new clients.

The key goal of the Credit Analyst team is to ensure that the bank is able to develop client relationships whilst managing credit risk and meeting regulatory requirements.

To assist in relationship support work including the preparation of credit applications and credit ratings for Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Dept.

To assist in client annual review reports.

To assist, monitor and review facilities and loans after drawdown including the maintenance of efficient diary procedures to monitor covenant checks, timely reviews, waivers, compliance and legal issues.

To monitor the credit portfolio on a continuing basis for changes in credit quality due to counterparty specific and general market related issues; recommending suitable actions.

To monitor adherence to approved credit limits and to ensure that relevant departments are informed of all material excesses on the same working day as identified.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Applicants should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in producing and presenting credit analysis in a Commercial, Corporate or Investment Banking environment. Ideally the applicant will be experienced in analysing companies from a range of different sectors.

Educated to degree standard. Formal credit or accounting qualifications would be advantageous.

Strong technical credit analysis skills (including financial statements analysis, sector research, and financial modelling skills).

Knowledge of banking products from a credit risk perspective, including: Plain vanilla commercial and corporate banking products (overdrafts, syndicated lending, term loans, cash management, guarantees and LC).

Fluent in written/spoken English. Mandarin would be an advantage.
