We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Risk Pricing Analyst to join a truly innovative Pricing team that plays a critical role in driving business growth and staying ahead of the competition.

About the Pricing Team

This team is the powerhouse of the business, collaborating closely with machine learning, data engineering, marketing, and tech teams, they harness vast data sets from a variety of sources to gain a detailed understanding of their customers.

What You'll Do

  • Forecast Growth & Loss Ratios: Support forecasting efforts and refine performance metrics.
  • Rate Reviews: Conduct regular rate reviews and monitor their impact.
  • Risk Modelling: Develop risk models tailored to home insurance.
  • Mentorship: Train and mentor team members to grow their expertise.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse large datasets, recommend initiatives, and implement models.
  • Reporting: Prepare periodic reports for senior leadership.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with engineers to bring ideas to life.
  • External Relationships: Provide analytical support to reinsurers, regulators, and other partners.
  • Product Expansion: Price and launch new insurance products.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in pricing, preferably in UK home insurance.
  • Education: Degree in a numerical discipline
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in risk models such as GLMs using Emblem.
    • Proficiency using RADAR software.
    • Strong data manipulation using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
  • Process Knowledge: Experience in rating updates, performance, and impact monitoring.
  • Optimisation Insight: Solid understanding of retail price optimisation strategies.
