Academic Support Assistant - Southwark

An 'Outstanding', high-achieving Secondary School in the heart of Southwark is seeking an Academic Support Assistant to assist students in and out of the classroom on a long-term and full-time basis. This is the ideal role for recent graduates looking to pursue child-based and research-led careers, focusing on the academic performance of students across the school.

This prestigious school installs a sense of ambition and drive within their students, resulting in strong grades and motivated individuals. Each child is valued and encouraged to excel from Year 7-13 by a supportive team of experienced Teachers, Support Staff and Graduate Teaching Assistants. As an Academic Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with students aged 11-18 years in the classroom
  • Leading small intervention groups targeting specific, challenging subject areas in all core subjects

  • Collaborating with Class Teachers to establish the necessary support for each child
