About the Client:Our client run a Section 41 Post-16 provision for young people aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have approximately 50 learners enrolled. They offer a diverse range of pathways and functional skills programmes, supporting individuals in gaining the confidence, social support, and qualifications they need to thrive.
Role Overview:Veritas are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to help maintain high standards within our educational programmes. The role will focus on overseeing the quality and consistency of Individual Learner Plans (ILPs), reviews, and the administration of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This is a key support position that will involve working closely with the Head of Education and SENCo to maintain the quality and compliance of our educational services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the quality and consistency of Individual Learner Plans (ILPs) and reviews, ensuring they meet required standards.
- Provide feedback to the Head of Education on findings related to ILPs and reviews.
- EHCP and Annual Reviews Administration:
- Administer the EHCP and annual review process, ensuring all relevant information is collated, reviews are scheduled, and meetings are documented.
- Ensure that information is provided to local authorities within statutory timeframes.
- Admissions Support:
- Assist the Admissions Officer in preparing and summarising information for the admissions panel.
- Maintain and update admissions information for potential learners.
- Attend admissions panels and meetings, taking minutes and communicating outcomes to local authorities.
- Liaison with Authorities and Providers:
- Collaborate with local authorities and previous education providers to gather the necessary information for admissions and EHCPs.
- Work closely with the Admissions Officer and SENCo to ensure the needs highlighted in EHCPs are recognised, costed, and addressed appropriately.
- Meeting Support:
- Attend safeguarding meetings, taking minutes and ensuring action points are recorded.
- Coordinate and assist with the arrangements for annual reviews, including meeting scheduling and minutes taking.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Conduct regular checks on the quality of one-page profiles, ILPs, and reviews, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the academic year.
- Report any issues regarding paperwork and quality assurance to the Head of Education and SENCo in a timely manner.
- Support to Admissions and Finance:
- Provide support to the Admissions Officer, particularly during busy periods.
- Liaise with the Finance Manager to ensure clarity on funding and ensure billing is accurate.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers and administrative systems.
- Experience working within SEN settings or educational environments is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
