We are currently recruiting for a nice opportunity as my clients Clerk Of Works on a 12 month FTC (Fixed-Term Contract) paying circa 55k - 75k DOE to work for a reputable Housing Association based in London / Hertfordshire.
The Clerk of Works will play a critical role in ensuring quality control and compliance across all aspects of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) program and Planned Works. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge, a strong understanding of building construction, and meticulous attention to detail.
The successful candidate will work across various projects, focusing on retrofitting and energy efficiency improvements, while supporting the organisation broader planned works strategy.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Studies, Construction Management, or related field. Membership of the ICWCI (Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate) or CIOB is
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction standards, building regulations, energy efficiency measures, and sustainable building practices, particularly in relation to retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect works to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Analytical Thinking: Capacity to identify quality issues and recommend solutions that align with project objectives.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with contractors, residents, and the project team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work on multiple projects with overlapping priorities, maintaining quality assurance in both SHDF and Planned Works.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Clerk of Works or similar quality assurance role, preferably in housing or public sector works.
