Service Charge OfficerCamden / BorehamwoodTemporaryFull TimeAre you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role within a dynamic Housing Association? We are seeking a skilled Service Charge Officer to ensure the accurate management of service charges while providing excellent support to residents. This role is hybrid/remote with around 2 days a month needed in office. Office locations of Camden or Borehamwood. THE ROLEAs a Service Charge Officer, you will ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reporting and accounting of service charges for all residents across tenures, in compliance with legislation and best practices.Key responsibilities include:
  • Handling service charge enquiries from residents and internal staff.
  • Investigating and making necessary service charge adjustments in ERP systems.
  • Collaborating with analysts to ensure accuracy in service charge estimates and actuals.
  • Responding to emails in the service charge mailbox promptly and accurately.
  • Participating in projects related to service charges to enhance processes.
  • Attending face-to-face meetings with residents to resolve disputes when required.
  • Supporting the rent team with service charge queries, including liaising with local authorities.
THE CANDIDATEThe successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in delivering service charges within a customer-focused environment.Key requirements include:
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, particularly concerning service charges.
  • Experience in the social housing sector with strong numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to handle and analyse large data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems, with a strong eye for detail.
THE CONTRACTTemporary - 3 months ongoingThe pay rate for the role is £23.47 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £20.01         per hour, inclusive of holiday.
