Data Analyst (temp)

Hourly rate: £23 - £26 PAYE

Location: London

Our client, a leading independent property consultancy in the UK, is seeking an enthusiastic Data Analyst to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the FP&A team and wider business heads, providing financial and management reporting, planning, analysis and guidance to key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving optimal decision-making and successful business strategies.

What you'll do:

As a Data Analyst, your role will be pivotal in supporting the FP&A team within the Business Services Department. You will be responsible for regular departmental performance reporting, managing large datasets, and providing crucial support during budgeting and forecasting periods. Your ability to communicate complex financial information effectively will be key in this role.

  • Provide regular departmental/service line performance and management reporting
  • Collate and upload work-in-progress data into SAP BPC on a monthly basis
  • Support in planning for budget and forecast ensuring accurate plan data is uploaded and reflected in the system timely
  • Provide wider support for FP&A team as required
  • Handle large/complex datasets and identify anomalies
  • Communicate/simplify complex and/or detailed financial information

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Data Analyst position brings a minimum of one year's experience in reporting, preferably within a financial context. You are comfortable handling large or complex datasets, identifying anomalies, and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Your advanced Excel skills complement your strong analytical abilities. An aptitude for quickly learning new systems is essential, while knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in reporting
  • Experience with financial and/or numerical data
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with finance and stakeholders across the business
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
  • Aptitude to learn new systems quickly
  • Knowledge of SAP (BPC, OHP, AFO, Business Objects) - desirable
