Data Analyst (Finance) - 6 Month Contract - London (Hybrid)Chapman Tate Associates are working with a company at the forefront of innovation in the insurance sector to hire a Data Analyst. The highly skilled Data Analyst will join a team, focusing on the intersection of finance and data analytics within the general insurance industry.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in working closely with Finance leads, sponsors, and stakeholders. You will be outcomes-driven, leveraging your deep understanding of finance processes and data analytics to drive impactful change. You will engage with key Finance stakeholders, IT Business Analysts, and developers to analyse financial data, document processes, and support readiness activities for Finance projects and transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, capabilities, and processes.
  • Use analysis tools to streamline data processes and develop dashboards and heatmaps for key reporting
  • Represent Finance to ensure that solutions and deliverables meet requirements.
  • Analyse large volumes of financial data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and highlighting discrepancies.
  • Communicate data analysis findings to IT Developers and Business Analysts to facilitate the development of Finance data solutions and remediation of defects.
  • Assess existing finance data requirements and ensure new solutions enhance data application within Finance.
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of user stories, coordinating with onshore and offshore teams.
  • Create clear, concise deliverables to ensure project objectives are understood and met.
  • Share knowledge and experience to drive team progress.
  • Establish effective communication and collaboration across Finance impacted areas and stakeholders.
  • Assist in documenting new processes and training materials to support readiness activities.
  • Provide support in testing and readiness efforts.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in Finance Change Data Analysis within the Insurance sector.
  • Proven experience in General Insurance, preferably within Specialty Commercial and London Markets.
  • Strong experience working with Power BI
  • Building dashboards visualising finance data
  • Advanced Excel skills (including PowerPivots) and Power BI configuration skills.
  • Understanding of Finance-focused data models and conceptual data modelling techniques.
  • SQL experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end policy journey and Finance & Insurance business capability model.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with experience creating business-level definitions in diagrams and written form.
  • Experience with data quality frameworks, assessing data quality, and identifying defects.
  • Proven experience in process analysis, reporting, migration projects, and documenting process flows.
  • Experience in gathering requirements, developing new ways of working, and producing training materials.
