Data Business Analyst - Hybrid Working - Outside IR35
Our client, a global Insurance broker, are currently looking to hire a Data Business Analyst to join the team on a contract basis. This role would be Outside IR35.
The client are looking to develop a holistic 'placement monitoring dashboard' for specialty broking divisions' placing and processing teams. The purpose of this dashboard will be to improve tracking of placements, reduce manual parts of the monitoring process and improve progress visibility.
This role requires experience and expertise of producing artefacts for analysing, designing and building Power BI and dashboard / workflow solutions.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience of working as a business analyst or data analyst throughout the whole lifecycle of data-focused projects from start-up to benefits realisation.
- Solid experience in business data analysis and associated data-focused process mapping and requirements gathering
- Knowledge of workflow design & Implementation of new workflows.
- Experience of being solely responsible for the running of workshops and managing discussions with confidence and leadership.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality analysis objectives and meet strict deadlines
- Domain knowledge of general insurance processes and / or London market insurance background desirable.
- Awareness of data governance, privacy and regulatory standards (e.g. GDPR)
- A good level of IT knowledge - e.g. enterprise architecture
- Experience using or working on projects related to insurance trading systems such as Global XB, Sector, Brokasure or SharePoint products desirable.
- Business analyst / data analyst experience in an Insurance / Broking organisation is desirable
Tools & Software:
- Proficiency in using dashboard and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SQL queries
- Proficiency in Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS) and familiarity with data lakes and data mesh concepts
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio products
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Jira or confluence
- Process modelling techniques (e.g. BPMN, UML, Journey Maps)
Key Skills:
- First Class verbal and written presentation skills.
- Able to work in a waterfall or Agile project environment
- Gravitas and confidence. Must have the ability to influence stakeholders. A natural diplomat.
- An eye for detail and precision. Accurate documentation which is easily understood by the target audience
- Strong documentation and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to convey information using various artefacts such as, conceptual architecture, mock-up screens and wireframes.
- Able to work individually or as part of a team
