Salary: £44,572 - £52,114 per annum, depends on experience

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Application Deadline: 12 noon, Wednesday 19th March 2025

This company is seeking an experienced analyst who wants to use their economic and data skills to drive policy change.

Data-driven arguments, evidence-based policy and robust costings are at the heart of how we make an impact for our members, and shape the policy landscape - whether that's our economic modelling being cited by MPs as they grill the NHS England Chief Executive, or our analysis of the costs of NHS dental treatments driving our arguments for NHS reform.

About the Role:

You'll deliver economic and data analysis, including modelling and costings, to underpin this company's policy development and campaigns. You'll focus on policy areas like public spending on dentistry, the business of dentistry, small business economics, dentists' pay, workforce economics and the dental labour market.

The role is responsible for:

  • Producing economic, data and policy analysis to inform policy development and campaigns.
  • Undertaking research and liaise with the Research Analysts in the development of primary research.
  • Identifying opportunities for data analysis and research and analysis to advance this company's policy agenda and to achieve policy change.
  • Working with communications and public affairs colleagues to develop and implement campaigns to achieve policy change.
  • Ensuring that policy developments and successes are communicated to members, the profession, stakeholders and the public.
  • Utilising analysis and knowledge to contribute to this company's membership offer, and the recruitment and retention of members.

The post is largely home based with regular travel to our office in London. Occasionally travel across the UK may also be required.

About You:

You'll have experience of undertaking economic analysis, modelling and costings, and of managing and analysing datasets. You'll have completed an undergraduate degree in economics or a related field, or have demonstrable equivalent professional experience. You'll have experience of developing policy, maybe in a healthcare context.

Alongside this, you'll have:

  • Experience of developing policy in healthcare or another setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of the issues facing a trade union and professional association
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and to work on own initiative
  • Able to communicate positively with professionals at all levels and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Good presentation skills enabling public speaking to large and small groups
  • Experience of managing a complex workload and meeting deadlines
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of MS Office and experience of using Excel
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
