About the Role:

As a Data Centre Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the technical infrastructure of the company's data centres. You will be involved in hardware installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operations in a multi-vendor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hardware racking and stacking, optimising space and airflow within the Data Centre.
  • Monitor and respond to hardware and network alerts, ensuring systems run smoothly.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of network VLANs and IP addressing to support network operations.
  • Work with HP, IBM, VMware, and Hyper-V servers to manage server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of network devices and servers, ensuring proper integration.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Centre operations.
  • Solid experience working with data centre hardware and networking equipment.
  • Proficiency in racking and stacking hardware, with a keen attention to detail and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of network device and server deployment, with proven troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with break/fix scenarios, demonstrating a methodical and efficient approach to problem-solving.
