Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking skilled Data Centre Technicians with experience in Critical Environments, or Engineers interested in transitioning into this area for a brand new opportunity for a new role at a Data Centre in Harlow, Essex. This role is central to maintaining the reliability and performance of critical data centre systems, with a focus on electrical systems and site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Data Centre Shift Technician, you will ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of site electrical systems, adhering to industry standards and codes. Your role includes performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on equipment, managing day-to-day maintenance tasks, and responding to reactive issues related to electrical equipment and site assets. You’ll also be responsible for updating computer-based maintenance systems, particularly the PPM system, and providing feedback to support continuous improvement.

Your role also includes the operation and troubleshooting of various systems, including electrical installations, emergency lighting, lighting control systems, building management systems (BMS), fire suppression and detection, air conditioning units, AHUs, heating systems, generators, motors, UPS systems, and HV systems. Training on HV systems will be provided as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the Building Services industry, ideally in a critical environment, and hold some of the below qualifications:

  • Level 3 Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring & Installation
  • HV Approved Person status (preferred)
