Data Analyst - SQL/Front office - sought by leading investment bank based in Canary Wharf - Contract - London - Hybrid

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical projects that deliver Front Office analytics and tooling to the business to support management of capital.
  • Own the end to end delivery from a high level brief / problem statement provided by the Business or Senior Project Manager. Use independent critical thinking and data analysis to break the problem down into key deliverables and work with Technology and Quant teams to agree a solution and delivery plan.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to project delivery, working on a daily basis with technical teams to ensure requirements are understood, correctly implemented and delivered to plan.
  • Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with Business, Quant and Technology teams
  • Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or escalate risks and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner to the projects by engaging relevant stakeholders and PMs
  • Engage senior stakeholders continuously by escalating and resolving issues as they arise

Skills Required:

  • Experience working with large datasets / relational databases and using SQL / object oriented programming languages to analyse and manipulate data
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of software delivery lifecycle and to coordinate end to end delivery across teams
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with ability to engage, inform and persuade senior stakeholders through discussion and presentations.
  • Self-starting with the ability to multitask, prioritize and proactively seek out teams and individuals across the organisation to help unblock issues
