Hybrid Working, 1 x day per week in office

The purpose of the GIS Technician will be to work collaboratively within a design and build team in the delivery of GIS outputs of multiple projects. This is an involved role, using QGIS as well as internal custom built tooling, to work with a variety of large GIS datasets

This role will provide you with the opportunity to expand on your existing GIS and data management skills and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 12 months+ commercial GIS experience
  • Educated to degree level in Geography or GIS related discipline
  • ArcGIS and QGIS GIS experience
  • Knowledge of using GIS software for data capture and manipulation
  • A good eye for detail to ensure the captured data is highly accurate first-time round
  • Knowledge of spatial data formats and standards
  • An understanding of geographic business intelligence
  • Experience with Python would be beneficial • Highly analytical mind set and a 'first time right' attitude
  • Proactively keep up to date with advances in the GIS community
  • Ability to knowledge share and bring new ideas to the team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivated and enthused by challenges, coupled with a strong team focus
  • A strong desire to contribute to a unique product and user experience
