***Head of Data Engineering FinTech Opportunity - London*** InterQuest are partnering a global leader in the media industry who is actively seeking a Head of Data Engineering. This role is all about driving the evolution of their data engineering capabilities, ensuring efficient delivery, and shaping the future of data-driven innovation.Key Responsibilities: 

• Build a diverse, supportive, excellence-focused data engineering discipline
• Manage the capacity, recruitment, and development of our data engineering capability
• Develop our expertise and knowhow by coaching and mentoring across teams and establish personal training programmes
• Line management of a data engineering team, and conduct 121s
• Own and deliver our data engineering strategy and vision
• Oversee the data aspects of feature designs and align those with our data strategy, data architecture and best practices in terms of completion, resilience, flexibility over time and operability
• Define and promote the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.

Key Skills: 

• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to create and maintain a positive culture and drive results through others
• Fulfilled a mentorship role encouraging professional growth of data engineer/science personnel
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, for example: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc
• Technical expertise in the areas of distributed computing tools such as Hadoop as well as experience working with big data technologies such as Data Bricks, Kafka, Cassandra, Presto etc
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and services - AWS
