This role is essential to advancing our understanding of supporter data and providing the insights that will drive key strategic decisions across the charity.As the Lead Data Analyst, you will manage the Reporting and Insights team, taking responsibility for delivering high-quality analysis and reporting products focused on our supporters. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll ensure that data products are strategically prioritized and fully address business needs, leading the way in building data-driven solutions that enhance our impact.Key Responsibilities as Lead Data Analyst
- Set the strategic direction for the Reporting and Insights team, prioritizing impactful data products and solutions that address core organisational needs.
- Collaborate with the Head of Data and Analytics to develop a clear data strategy, ensuring that insights align with the charity's mission.
- Lead the development, delivery, and optimisation of analysis and reporting solutions focused on supporter data, ensuring products are accessible, actionable, and valued across the organisation.
- Engage senior stakeholders to understand business needs, translating technical data insights into clear, practical information to support decision-making and drive utilisation.
Main Duties
- Direct and support the Reporting and Insights team, ensuring the development of high-quality, impactful data products aligned with business objectives.
- Work closely with data engineers to refine databases, data structures, and reporting systems, ensuring they meet the technical requirements for optimal analysis.
- Collaborate with the data product manager to guarantee that data products meet stakeholder needs and are strategically prioritised.
- Drive change across the organisation by championing data solutions and promoting their use, ensuring that data-driven decision-making becomes a core element of the charity's culture.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in leading data analyst and reporting teams, along with a deep understanding of diverse data analysis techniques and toolsets.
- Strong coding skills in SQL, R, Python, or similar, and experience establishing best practices for coding and data analysis.
- Demonstrated success in formulating and implementing data strategies that have driven significant organisational impact.
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with a natural ability to explain technical concepts in accessible terms.
- A strategic mindset with a track record of prioritising and delivering data products that align with organisational goals.
