eading prop tech client now requires a Senior Data Engineer to lead, own and ensure the reliability and scalability of their data products.
This role will shape our client’s data architecture, pipelines and cloud technologies ensuring innovation across the wider business.
Key responsibilities:
- Guide a team of data engineers in overseeing the design, development and improvement of our client’s data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Own the technical roadmap for our client’s data products, ensuring this aligns with business goals and architectural decisions are innovative and scalable.
- Optimise cloud-based data solutions (Azure/AWS).
- Leverage big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka or Hadoop to design and manage large scale on prem data systems.
- Collaborate with wider teams to build advanced data solutions, developing software and infrastructure to improve data extraction, transformation and loading.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience as a Data Engineer in an Azure or AWS environment.
- Demonstrable experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Expert in both on prem and cloud big data and data lake environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to strategically lead teams and projects.
- Strong programming skills using Python, Spark or PySpark etc.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Fabric and Databricks.
- Desirable: Advanced SQL or Data warehousing skills.
This is a permanent opportunity which provides a base salary of up to £80,000 plus excellent benefits.
In terms of working structure this role is fully remote (UK).
