Senior Data Engineer Financial Services

Your new role:You will be a key member of the markets program execution & transformation & data acquisition team, where you will be working on multiple projects / workstreams, assessing and delivering data solutions and supporting changes affecting multiple stakeholder groups. The prime mission of the team is to design and implement integrated solutions in the most efficient way for markets and its clients.Responsibilities:

• You will build PySpark and SQL queries to analyse, reconcile, and interrogate data.
• Provide recommendations to improve the reporting process, working alongside IT teams to streamline data quality, working with stakeholders to simplify processes and improve overall query performance.
• Contribute to architecture/ design within a Hadoop environment.
• You will translate architecture and requirements to design and code.
• Provide direction, technical development and design implementation as well as leadership across all phases of high-impact projects.
• You shall promote continuous process improvement in code quality, testability & reliability.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members and management
• Develop project artifacts including business requirements documentation, functional requirements. test plans and scenario documents for testing.
• Day-to-day management of individual project responsibilities including milestone setting, task and actions management.What you'll need to succeed:
• Expertise with SQL, Python, Spark.
• You possess strong working knowledge of Hadoop / Big Data domains
• Good Data Warehousing /ETL design and development methodologies knowledge and experience.
• Strong have strong experience within financial services and/ or investment banking
• Exposure to Hive, Impala, and Spark ecosystem technologies e.g HDFS, Apache Spark, Spark-SQL, UDF, Sqoop etc.
• Experience with building and optimizing Big Data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
