Sonic Summary

The job is for an experienced SQL DBA on a 6-month contract with a daily rate of £450 - £550, inside IR35.
Candidates must have current or recently lapsed Security Clearance and experience in developing SQL and database solutions.
Responsibilities include migrating BI stacks to newer versions, optimizing BI-related code, and supporting the full data lifecycle.
A solid understanding of Microsoft technologies and experience with Terraform, Git, and PowerShell is preferred.
The SQL DBA will work onsite in central London 2 days per week and is expected to have several years of relevant experience.

SQL DBA – 6 Months Contract - £450 - £550 p/d Inside IR35 - Security Clearance

Job Description

We’re on the lookout for an experienced SQL DBA (Database Administrator) to join our client’s database team.

In this role, the SQL DBA will work across several different projects, handling tasks independently, making informed decisions, and collaborating effectively with the team. The work includes installing, migrating, and supporting BI stacks within the business.

The SQL DBA will be involved in the testing, implementation, and post-deployment support of SQL systems, and you'll play a part in the operational management of the applications developed following a DevOps approach.

SQL DBA Responsibilities:

Holding current or recently lapsed SC Clearance
Develop robust SQL and database solutions.
Lead migrations of BI stacks from older versions (such as 2008 R2 and 2012) to newer versions (2016/2019).
Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, including SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, and SQL Server Management Studio.
Optimize existing BI-related code and analyse SQL queries to improve performance.
Take ownership of code reviews and actively participate in peer reviews.
Support the full data lifecycle, contributing to an agile working environment.
Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues when necessary.
Experience with Terraform, Git and PowerShell is a plus.

This role is based in central London, the SQL DBA will be required onsite 2 days per-week.

My client also requires the SQL DBA to hold current, valid Security Clearance for this role.
