Staff Data Engineer - £95,000-£100,000 + Bonus + Extensive Benefits - Hybrid!

I'm recruiting for a global business that partners with many of the world’s largest retailers, helping them boost traffic and sales through an innovative SaaS product. They’re looking for a Staff Data Engineer to join their team, within a company renowned for its commitment to cutting-edge technology, employee autonomy, and a collaborative culture.

As the Staff Data Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Back-End team, responsible for designing and evolving the data pipeline, data store, and API layer that drive our client-facing dashboards and product performance reporting. You’ll take ownership of the data roadmap, guiding the architecture and technology choices that support new product features and improve data flow efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building and managing scalable data systems, aggregating and distributing data to support new product offerings. You’ll be a key decision-maker in evaluating and implementing the best technologies to achieve these goals and will have the autonomy to drive forward the data roadmap, continually enhancing the data pipeline to meet evolving business needs.

Experience/Skills required:

  • Experience designing and building robust, scalable, distributed data systems and pipelines, leveraging open source and public cloud technologies.
  • Experience with big data storage and processing technologies: e.g. DBT, SQL, Redshift, Snowflake, RDBMSs (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with modern build tools - Jenkins, GitHub etc.
  • Experience with Spring Boot or similar API framework.
  • Experience with scheduling services such as Airflow, Oozie.
