Data Architect - About the role

The Data Architect oversees the design, development, and delivery of the data platform.

Looking for a candidate who is passionate about data and data solutions, who can bring industry experience to aid the ongoing shaping of a data platform across a suite of SaaS products.

Data Architect - Key duties

Oversee architecture and approach to the suite of products. Ideally, a candidate with experience in implementing strategic initiatives such as data centric system architecture, including the creation of a central data ontology, as well as core activities including data collection, data migration, integration, warehousing, laking, modelling and reporting. This includes oversight of the development and implementation of processes to service requests for business intelligence from the company including reporting and dashboard development.

Responsible for architecting the data solutions and ensuring that these solutions are scalable, sustainable and fit for purpose. This will include regulatory compliance including data retention, data anonymisation, and data security e.g.; segregation.

Lead on the data strategy for the development and delivery of software

Design solutions to comply with regulatory and contractual obligations inc data retention, segregation and data quality.

Provide leadership on the scope and implementation of a data centric architectural strategy for application development.

Oversee data warehousing strategy and delivery.

Design and implement processes to provide business intelligence and management information services to the company and its clients, including test driven development of reporting, automation of pipelines etc.

Identify the intelligence needs of business functions, supervising business intelligence team members in the collation of requirements.

R&D of new data technologies on the company’s tech radar.

Maintain frameworks for development patterns and standards.

Managing and supervising the work of others; proven experience of mentoring BI professionals is required

Data Architect - Key requirements

Experience with a variety of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Graph)

Knowledge of data centric system design

Experience using Azure or AWS to deliver cloud first data solutions

Demonstrate Agile - Experience of Agile Scrum methodology.

Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision.

Must have good analytical skills.
