Robert Half is recruiting an experienced Data Engineer for a London-based B2B SaaS organisation. This is an initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension.

Responsibilties:

The Data Engineer will be tasked with the following:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support ETL processes and real-time data streaming.
  • Work with multiple data sources (e.g., APIs, cloud storage, databases) to integrate and consolidate data for analytics and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain, optimise, and troubleshoot databases and data warehouses (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake) to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Document data models, architecture, and pipelines for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure the reliability of data processes by monitoring system performance and making necessary optimisation's to data flow.

Experience:

The Data Engineer should have the following experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, batch and real-time data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and relevant data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, or similar).
  • Proficient in SQL and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience with Python or Java for data processing.
  • Familiarity with modern data tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
