Robert Half Technology are assisting UK's market leading renewable energy organisation to recruit a Data Engineer on a 3-6 month contract.

Role

  • The Data Engineer will generate BI solutions (analysis/reporting/dashboard) based on SQL including SSIS/SSAS/Power BI/DAX / Snowflake
  • Identify and suggest new ideas, solutions and technologies that can help the investment and / or asset management teams work more efficiently or make better data-driven decisions
  • Work with the exiting data warehouse and Snowflake platform to build out new solutions and features
  • Bring new ideas and technologies to the data team to drive productivity and better analysis
  • Develop reports that enable services to operate effectively and always understand and report current levels of performance whilst ensuring data is accurate.
  • Research, review, and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing report procedures and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Meet with stakeholders, and end users to define reporting and intelligence requirements and goals and lead on implementation of new or improved processes to respond to this.
  • To lead in the continuing technical development of our business intelligence software (Power BI). To act as a key point of contact for data, reports, training and queries and build applications where requested.
  • Regular and active use of Power BI including development of key applications and regular analysis of intelligence and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify ways of utilising external intelligence within our systems and intelligence tools.

Profile

  • The Data Engineer will have the ability to carry out and share/present in-depth analysis.
  • Extensive BI and development skills including:

- Power BI- SQL- Visual Studio- Snowflake- Python- Matillion and similar ETL tools

  • Experience of power markets and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems is desirable but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills as the role intersects with a broad cross-section of the business (e.g. from fund reporting activities, to management of site operations / optimisation teams).
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing technologies.
  • Established fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Have proven experience of training end users in reporting tools to enable self-service reporting (desirable).
  • Experience with reporting tools, software, and other applications including Microsoft reporting.
