Robert Half are assisting a market leading financial services organisation to recruit an Data Engineer on an initial 6 month contract basis

Role

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimise data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Data Architecture: Develop and maintain scalable data architecture, ensuring robust, reliable, and high-performance data systems.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Build and manage cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) to support scalable storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from diverse internal and external sources.
  • Data Modelling: Develop and maintain efficient and reliable data models for both operational and analytical purposes.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement processes for data quality assurance, validation, and governance.
  • Performance Optimisation: Monitor and improve data infrastructure performance and reliability.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Create clear documentation and promote best practices for data engineering processes and tools.

Profile

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in small teams or startup environments is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases.
  • Experience with modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Informatica).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Understanding of data streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
