As a Data Engineer you’ll help develop and maintain the Barbican’s data infrastructure.

You will build data pipelines for analysis and operations, improve data quality and deliver data integrations between our business applications, which include event and venue management, ticketing, customer service, retail and hospitality systems.

You will take control of our existing ETL code, which is built in Python and runs in Azure Functions. You will make it more robust, in particular improving code coverage, and you’ll build and optimise our data services in Azure.

As well as building data solutions directly, you will be part of the process of reviewing code contributed by internal users and freelancers, ensuring that quality, security and privacy standards are met.

You will have the freedom to explore new ways of solving data problems, contribute to the design of our data architecture, and help us select and implement new tools and approaches.

As we improve how we use and understand data, you will improve your knowledge and skills and contribute to continuous improvement of the data products we deliver for internal users and our audiences.
