Staff Database Reliability Engineer / DRE (MySQL) London / WFH to £130k

Do you have expertise with MySQL combined with experience of working on highly scalable, data intensive systems?

You could be progressing your career at one of Europe's fastest growing audio content platforms with 176 million active users and ambitious growth plans to become the world's number one music streaming service.

As a Staff Database Reliability Engineer / DRE you will take ownership of a large scale project to update c50 MySQL database clusters that underpin the entire application. You'll drive the use of automation, modernising the systems and preparing them to transition to AWS cloud based services.

This is an impactful role where you'll be able to influence and see the results of your work.

Location / WFH:

You'll be able to work from home / remotely fulltime, with the caveat that'll join the team in London once a month, there's a lot of flexibility, you may prefer to go in more often, the offices are seriously cool and offer a sociable environment with a range of perks and experiences.

About you:

  • You have experience in a similar role Database Reliability Engineer DRE, Site Reliability Engineer SRE position
  • You have strong experience of ensuring the reliability, performance and scalability of large scale database clusters in mission critical production environments
  • You have a deep knowledge of MySQL including on-prem and cloud tooling e.g. XtraDB
  • You have experience with AWS database services e.g. RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora
  • You have experience of managing large cluster upgrades and migrations
  • You have automation experience with Terraform, Kubernetes Operators and scripting skills
  • You have a good knowledge of observability, monitoring, security and compliance
  • You're collaborative with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
