The RoleSalt Recruitment is looking for an experienced Database Migration Engineer to join a Local Government body in Central London. This role will focus on leading the migration of Microsoft Access databases to SQL Server and SharePoint lists, ensuring minimal business disruption.
This is a hybrid position, requiring attendance in the London office once or twice per week, with the remainder remote. The contract is inside IR35 and offers £450 per day on a rolling 3-month contract.
Key Responsibilities- Lead database migrations from Microsoft Access to SQL Server and SharePoint lists.
- Manage end-to-end data migration projects, working with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Develop and implement best practices for database migration, ensuring efficiency and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to align on migration strategies.
- Prepare reports and documentation, providing updates to senior managers.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in scope, managing risks effectively.
- Proven experience in migrating Access Databases to SQL Server and SharePoint lists.
- Strong knowledge of data migration best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience managing data migration projects in a complex organisation.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with external suppliers and third-party contractors.
- Strong project management skills, including risk management and stakeholder engagement.
