This is a seriously weighty senior Data Acquisition position with a supremely well-funded AI start-up based in Zurich. UK home-based with fully expensed (hotel, flights etc) monthly visits to Zurich office.

The Data Acquisition role will see you 'in at the start’ working closely with equally senior FE, ML, Blockchain, AI, UI/UX, Data specialists. Plans are in place to scale the business ambitiously from Q2. The framework is complete, and now they need to build the MVP.

It’s a supremely fascinating product and challenge.

You will need substantial commercial experience (5+ years) as a go-to senior Data Acquisition specialist in a technology-led company together with demonstrably strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication. You’ll already be on a high salary.

A flavour of the role:

  • Identify and establish partnerships with data providers such as construction companies, architectural firms, and other relevant organizations
  • Collect and integrate data from various sources to support AI/ML model development and platform functionality
  • Negotiate data access agreements and licensing contracts with data providers
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability by implementing data validation and cleaning processes
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate acquired data into the platform’s data infrastructure
  • Maintain up-to-date records of data acquisition activities and partnerships
  • Monitor data sources for updates and new data availability
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data acquisition
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on acquired data to support business decisions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data acquisition and integration

Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics; Masters/PhD a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Data Acquisition Specialist or similar role within a technology-driven company
  • Strong understanding of data collection, integration, and validation processes
  • Excellent negotiation and partnership-building skills
  • Proficient in data management tools and software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations is a plus
