Optamor is supporting a leading UK brand, established in 1998 with the recruitment of Data Engineers on contract basis.

As a Data Engineer you will design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines and systems that support data-driven decision-making within the organisation.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, availability, and quality of data, enabling the company to leverage data assets for strategic insights and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities and main duties:

  • Design and build new data models and core data sets.
  • Design and build extractions, transformations, loading processes.
  • Support existing processes and own data quality for various areas.
  • Implement new data integrations and write custom plugins in Airflow.
  • Build dashboards to answer business specific questions.
  • Own and maintain the data architecture elements and its performance and security.
  • Manage SLAs for key data sets.

Requirements:

  • Must have worked in AWS Cloud Platform or any other cloud platform such as Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake or Azure in the data warehouse space.
  • Must have experience with Python programming language.
  • Must have experience with MPP systems such as Hive, Iceberg, Presto, Trino, BigQuery, or any Data Lakehouse Architectures.
  • Experience in writing complex AQL statements and data transformations in SQL.
  • Experience with any data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, AWS Kinesis, Kinesis Data Firehose.
  • Experience in Apache Airflow or any other workflow management tool.
