Data Engineer - London/Hybrid - £85,000 FTC

I am currently working with a well-established organisation within the education sector who are looking for a Data Engineer to join their established IT team. Their current project is based around the creation and implementation of a brand new Azure Data Platform.

You will take responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of the data platform utilising your experience with the Azure tech stack. This is an opportunity to join a team who are serious about the way that they use data and work within an organisation who are providing significant investment into all of their data teams. The teams itself are growing in size but the company are also investing in the technology that they use with an emphasis on Microsoft tech such as Azure Synapse, Databricks and Data Factory.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for some of the following areas.

  • Develop and maintain the organisation Azure data warehouse infrastructure
  • Create robust data pipelines for data ingestion purposes
  • Carrying out effective data transformation to ensure data is prepared for visualisation/reporting
  • Work closely with stakeholders from different business units to meet all data needs

This is a salaried role paying up to £70,000 per year depending on experience where you will be employed on a fixed term contract basis. In this role you will work on a hybrid basis from the organisations Central London office 3 times per week. There is also a company benefits package which includes generous holiday allowance, a contributory pensions scheme and training programmes alongside other benefits.

To be successful in this role you will have.

  • Previous experience working in a Data Engineering role.
  • Excellent understanding of Azure Databricks
  • Experience creating data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
  • Experience working with Azure Data Lake storage.
  • Good working knowledge of other Azure cloud services and technologies
