Role OverviewAs the Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of data pipeline development-designing, developing, and maintaining robust data systems. You will play a crucial role in shaping the evolution of the company's data platform, ensuring seamless data integration, high-quality outputs, and effective collaboration across teams. Your strategic leadership will enable the organisation to leverage data for key business insights and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines.

Drive continuous improvement of the technical services, tools, frameworks, and code for the data platform.

Implement and manage AWS services to integrate with the data platform and other business systems.

Integrate data from multiple sources into a unified and accessible data ecosystem.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, models, and pipelines.

Optimise data infrastructure to enhance performance, reduce latency, and manage resource utilisation effectively.

Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, providing leadership and fostering skill development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and business stakeholders, to deliver impactful data solutions.
Skills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:

Extensive experience in data engineering, including designing and developing data pipelines and systems.

Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS) and integrating cloud services into data platforms.

Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data engineering tools such as Snowflake, DBT, and Tableau.

Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and data modelling.

In-depth knowledge of best practices for data quality, security, and performance optimisation.

Ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver tailored data solutions.
