Product Owner
Rate - 500 (A Day)
Duration - 3 Months (Initially)
Location - London (Hybrid)
IR35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)
Role Purpose:
To maximise the value of our data solutions within the Data Solutions Agile Release Train (ART) to support the vision and strategy of a Central Data Hub.
The Product owner is expected to collaborate with the Product manager(s), guide their team(s) and represent the customer(s).
It would be beneficial for candidates to have experience with data , integrations, analytics and data mapping within a higher education client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Ownership:
o Manage one of the data products.
o Develop and communicate product vision aligning needs to capabilities.
o Ensure products are delivered to agreed standards and fit with architectural requirements.
o Develop and maintain a service and product strategy for the product area.
o Managing and prioritising the team's backlog for the product(s)
- Stakeholder Engagement:
o Engage with stakeholders, staff, and students to gather requirements and feedback.
o Represent Digital Education, IT, and the university at external events and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Expertise Development:
o Maintain deep knowledge of product features and capabilities.
o Stay updated with market trends and advancements in data technologies.
o Act as a domain expert, visionary, and strategist for the product area.
- Collaboration:
o Work with IT and faculty teams to support students and staff in using digital education products.
o Participate in horizontal teams within the IT directorate and across the organization.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with other IT teams and professional services.
- Solution Delivery:
o Deliver solutions within budget, strategies, and requirements.
o Ensure solutions are fit for purpose, avoiding over-specification and complexity.
o Adhere to established frameworks (e.g.,SAFe, PRINCE 2, TOGAF, ITIL) for project and service delivery.
o Ensure user experience and satisfaction are prioritized in all activities.
- Strategy Contribution:
o Contribute to the vision, strategy and leadership discussions and decisions.
o Develop, maintain, and communicate plans for strategic product developments.
o Optimize the cost of solutions by using an appropriate mix of internal and external resources.
o Ensure risk is managed, mitigated, and aligned within enterprise risk tolerances.

o Lead, manage, and develop staff to achieve goals and objectives.
o Support the team in delivering value.
o Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to team members.

o Provide quality assurance for solution designs and deliverables.
