Are you a data-savvy professional with a passion for financial markets? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Data Analytics Team as a Senior Data Analyst. This role is central to data management, analysis, and innovation, supporting critical risk and treasury functions within a global financial services organisation.

About the Role

As a key member of the Data Analytics Team, you will:

  • Develop and maintain data models and proxy models across multiple asset classes.

  • Analyse large datasets, processes, and technology systems.

  • Collaborate on data initiatives related to market risk, regulatory changes, and strategic programmes.

  • Act as a key contact to resolve data queries from stakeholders, including Trading, Risk, and Model Validation.

  • Work across the full data lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation and release management.

  • Partner with agile project teams, IT developers, and system support teams to uphold high data quality standards.

  • Support daily data validation and reporting activities in line with established policies.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • A degree (2:1 or above) in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or Chemistry.

  • Economics or Finance degrees with a strong quantitative focus are also considered.

  • Professional qualifications (e.g., PRM, FRM, CQF) are advantageous.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong statistical and mathematical background.

  • Proficiency in Python for working with large datasets.

  • SQL experience.

  • Solid understanding of data analysis methodologies.

  • Knowledge of risk metrics and data requirements in financial markets.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with financial markets policies, guidelines, and regulations.

  • Experience closing out model validation and audit findings.

  • Knowledge of systems like Summit, Murex, Bloomberg, or similar.

  • Azure DevOps and Git version control experience.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to audiences of varying seniority.

  • Proactive, results-driven, and flexible with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Team-oriented with a hands-on approach.
