We currently have a great opportunity with a Housing organisation for an Income Officer role on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role located in East London, requiring the successful candidate to work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.Job Title: Income OfficerSalary: £35,000 per annumContract: Permanent roleWorking Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PMLocation: East London (HYBRID - 2 days a week in the office, 3 days from home)

Responsibilities of Income Officer
  • Manage rent and service charge accounts to maximise income collection.
  • Handle resident queries regarding payments, arrears, and account balances.
  • Take appropriate action on arrears cases, including legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Provide financial advice and support to tenants regarding rent payments and benefits.
  • Represent the organisation in court and at enforcement proceedings when required.
Requirements for Income Officer
  • Experience in income collection and arrears management within social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and rent policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office and housing management software.
